Press Release
Promotion Ideas
- Use the press release template to spread the word about your Keep Connected sessions. Tying Keep Connected to local newsworthy events will help get the media’s attention (for example, the first day of school, focus on teen relationships with their family, etc.).
- Send it to local new organizations (newspapers, radio and TV). Include it in event listings on local media websites and with parenting organizations and schools. Ask people to retweet and share on social media.
- Post in local Facebook groups (such as related to middle school, local area groups, local parent groups, neighborhood groups, etc) where they will get notifications.
- Submit to event boards on local radio station websites, local TV stations, etc. Also submit to local middle schools, scouting organizations, etc. who work with young people in the middle school age group.

Social Media
NOTE: If your organization is new to social media event promotion or social media in general, please see the resources at the bottom of the page.
Add a #Hashtag
By including a hashtag in your promotions, commentary, and post-event thank yous, you’re not only pulling a conversation together, but you’re also making it easier for people to find photos and attendee interactions from your event.
